Hi Chris, I read your post on scalaction about 100 Months, etc. then this post here. Although we might have different ideas as to how to get there, I'm very much in agreement with you on the need for more engagement, networking and collaboration. Of course I disagree with "there is no core information repository" The 1350 plus articles, etc. on SCA wiki make a good start, not to mention the scores of similar wiki worldwide, although of course I know that many people resist new technology for a long time before finally giving it a chance and seeing what it can do for them. It may come as no surprise to you that I think SCA wiki could help with most of the stuff you see as needing to happen. If there was a way of arranging a session for me to give you, and whoever else, a quick tour of all the things that can be done with the wiki, I'd jump at the chance. Also I wonder if we could meet up in London, whenever's convenient, as we once did a few years ago, for a more general, informal chat about any collaboration opportunities (?), maybe invite others, maybe on a regular though not too frequent basis, and see if there's a chance of getting something along these lines going. What do you think? Phil Green (put this also on the wiki)

Is there not a lot of truth in what Julian says? Someone once said something like money is just representation of flows of energy. So long as the community and voluntary sector invests the majority of its efforts in seeking to be part of this particular flow (the monetarised bit) rather than investing more in complementary flows of voluntary energy (Wikipedia one of the biggest sites in the world, and for some time now getting more traffic than the BBC, built entirely via voluntary effort), isn't it adding to "the fuel that fires the big business/govt agenda." ?
